Svara: how to count points and where people argue
The shakha, top trinkas, two aces and triples at 32.5 — the disputed hands under our canon.
Every courtyard counted svara its own way. We play by the expert's canon — here are the places where people usually argue.
The shakha does not make a triple
The six of clubs is the shakha: it adds 11 to your best suit. But it does not turn a pair into a triple:
- K♥ K♠ 6♣ — 21, not a triple;
- A♥ A♠ 6♣ — 22, “two aces”, not “three aces”.
All triples are equal
Any triple except aces and sixes is 32.5. K K K against 7 7 7 is a svara.
Top hands
| Hand | Points |
|---|---|
| Three sixes, “three shakhas” | 34 |
| Three aces | 33 |
| Any other triple | 32.5 |
| Shakha in a suit with an ace and a ten | 32 |
| “Top trinkas” — 31 in one suit without the shakha | 31 |
You can check any hand in the trainer on the svara page.
